Obama Appoints Scholar as New Copyright Czar

President Barack Obama appointed former George Mason University of Law visiting scholar Victoria Espinel to the newly formed position of copyright czar. The position, created by congress last year, will be used to "report directly to the president and Congress regarding domestic international intellectual property enforcement programs” and enfore the Pro-IP act. The Pro-IP act, also known as the “Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights Act,” will hope to curb piracy and copyright infringement issues during Obama's administration.
